Miller and Beatport have partnered on a new project that celebrates the best of global electronic music scenes and provides a platform to support the next generation of talent. With 77% of emerging talent lacking industry connections, according to Youth Music, the “Miller Mix” initiative aims to give aspiring DJs and producers the tools to develop their careers and a platform to share their music.
For the initial stage of the initiative, Miller Mix has been on the hunt for up-and-coming talent, hosting a competition in several overlooked music scenes. While Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Turkey have already taken place, it looks towards Georgia, South Africa, and Australia later this year. Here, they invite budding creatives to submit their music online, of which six winners will be chosen for a training course worth €5,000 EUR as well as a prize bundle of free music equipment and music production software. The career training – comprised of social media management, live streaming workshops and more – will take place with the renowned Beatport Group, a program headed up by specialist music technicians and professionals.
As part of the prize, Miller Mix is hosting an event series with the winners in their respective countries. With a line-up featuring the aspiring DJs and producers as well as a mix of electronic music artists including Lilly Palmer, Argy, and Gioli & Assia, the events aim to bring attention to the burgeoning talent with a grand scale showcase. The special journey will also be captured in a six-part documentary allowing fans to discover the unique sounds of the participants and the scenes they originate from. Kicking off in Turkey, the first episode pieces together stories from competition winner YOZE, Istanbul’s Noh Radio and artists Lilly Palmer and Ferhat Albayrak.

We’re working with some of the top talent in the electronic music scene to bring iconic events across the world alongside supporting emerging producers and collectives in the scene, celebrating each city’s unique culture and sounds.”
