Microsoft Confirms Shortage of Xbox Controllers

Microsoft has confirmed there has been a shortage of Xbox controllers across the globe due to “supply disruptions.”

In a statement to VGC, the company shared, ”We know it may be hard finding Xbox Wireless Controllers right now due to supply disruptions, we’re working as fast as possible with our manufacturing and retail partners to improve this. Please check with your local retailer for availability.”

Major retailers worldwide are sold out of Xbox Wireless Controllers; the lack of supply seems particularly scarce in Europe. In the United Kingdom, no controllers are currently available for retail in any color, anywhere. Third-party prices on Amazon nearly doubles for the black-colored controller; prices start at $98 USD.

For those needing a controller with a custom touch, Xbox Design Lab is still taking orders from gamers who want to purchase a customized Xbox controller, which ships directly from Microsoft. Starting at $69.99 USD, the site allows gamers to customize the Xbox Wireless Controller with stylish pastel colors, exciting camo patterns, distinct finishes, rubberized grips, and more. The site claims, “We aim to have the controller in your hands within 28 days of placing your order.” Whether or not it is still the case remains unclear; however, it seems that you can still place an order without any issues.

In other gaming news, Turn 10 Studios confirmed that Forza Motorsport will support real-time ray-tracing.
