Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for its psychological thriller, The Killer. Based on the namesake French graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent, the upcoming adaptation is directed by David Fincher and will arrive in theaters and on the streamer this fall.
“After a fateful near miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal,” Netflix’s description of the film reads.
The trailer doesn’t delve into specific plot details but promises viewers a ton of action, ranging from what looks to be a car chase to more than one fistfight.
Michael Fassbender stars as the unnamed assassin, alongside a cast that includes Arliss Howard, Kerry O’Malley, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte, Tilda Swinton, Emiliano Pernía, Gabriel Polanco and Charles Parnell.
Paramount Pictures first acquired the rights to The Killer in 2007 and Fincher came onboard the same year. It wasn’t until 2021, however, that the director brought the project to Netflix. Filming began that same year.
