Just a few days ago, an alternative version of Metro Boomin’s “Trance” containing a feature from Drake began surfacing online. Now, the hip-hop producer has returned with another Drake collaboration that was never officially released.
This version comes in the form of the first take at Drake, 21 Savage and Project Pat’s “Knife Talk,” the fan-favorite track from Certified Lover Boy.
Metro, who produced the song, tweeted a link to the original version, entitled “Gang Sh*t.” Drake is absent from the single, making it a solo for 21 Savage.
While the producer didn’t expand on the decision to add Drake to the stem mix, it’s likely that “Gang Sh*t” was originally created to appear on the tracklist of 2020’s Savage Mode 2, Metro and 21 Savage’s collaboration LP, but was ultimately tabled and revisited later on.
