A meticulously restored 1990 Mercedes-Benz 250GD “Wolf” is set to be auctioned off at Bonhams Cars‘ upcoming “The Scottsdale Auction.” This iconic off-roader, originally built for military service, has been reimagined by Expedition Motor Company, blending rugged heritage with modern refinement.

Under the hood lies a 2.5L inline five-cylinder diesel engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Known for its bulletproof reliability, this powertrain ensures performance on and off the road. Solid front and rear axles, four-wheel drive and upgraded suspension further enhance its off-road ability.

Expedition Motor Co. invested over 2,000 hours into this restoration, stripping the vehicle down to bare metal before applying a Sky Blue paint finish with black accents. Standout features include a snorkel, LED lighting, oversized BFG tires, skid plates and a rear jerry can rack. A custom roll bar, bolstered bucket seats with hand-stitched black upholstery and wood rear floorboards add a bit of elegance.

This Wolf also comes equipped with a full soft top, a bikini top and thoughtful details like a color-matched emergency shovel tucked under the hood. A bespoke hardbound book documents the entire restoration process, preserving the vehicle’s story for future enthusiasts. The 250GD is set to be offered without reserve as part of Bonhams Cars’ upcoming The Scottsdale Auction, starting January 24.
