Mercedes-AMG Unleashes 805 HP AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its most potent model yet, the 2025 AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, which combines breathtaking performance with innovative hybrid technology. Revealed in Shanghai alongside a Formula 1 race, the vehicle represents the pinnacle of the AMG GT Coupe portfolio as well as a significant shift towards electrified performance in luxury sports cars.

Boasting an impressive 805 hp, the AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE is powered by a handcrafted AMG 4L V8 biturbo engine paired with an electric motor. This setup delivers a combined torque of up to 1,047 lb-ft, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds, making it the fastest AMG series production model — with a top speed capped at 199 mph.

Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, emphasized the vehicle’s unparalleled speed and dynamic driving experience, stating that the car was designed to elicit “pure goosebumps” while maintaining a high level of exclusivity and quality.

The vehicle’s advanced engineering is underscored by its E PERFORMANCE hybrid system, which features a lightweight AMG High-Performance Battery situated above the rear axle. This battery is cooled by a high-tech coolant that enhances performance and durability by maintaining an optimal temperature around each of the 560 battery cells.

In terms of handling, the AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE is equipped with active roll stabilization, active rear-axle steering and a fully variable all-wheel drive system, ensuring a responsive and stable driving experience. The car also comes standard with an AMG carbon ceramic high-performance brake system for superior stopping power.

Externally, the AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE is distinguishable by its unique E PERFORMANCE badging and an integrated charging port door, among other features. The vehicle also sports aerodynamically optimized 20-inch AMG alloy wheels and has several personalization options, including the MANUFAKTUR Signature program which offers exclusive paint finishes and luxurious Nappa leather upholstery.

Inside the cabin, the car boasts a driver-focused design with an array of modern amenities and extensive personalization options. From power-adjustable AMG sports seats to the MBUX infotainment system with hybrid-specific displays, the cabin is designed to enhance both comfort and performance.

For those interested in the new AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, it is expected to hit U.S. dealerships at the end of 2024, with pricing yet to be announced at the time of writing.
