Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled the PureSpeed, first teased as a concept in the Summer of 2024. This striking, open-top sports car marks the launch of the exclusive Mythos series. Making its world premiere at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the PureSpeed is designed to celebrate Mercedes-Benz’s storied motorsport history, combining cutting-edge engineering with a bold, roofless design.
Limited to 250 units, the PureSpeed features a radical aesthetic inspired by legendary racing cars. Its sleek silhouette, long bonnet and shark-nosed front pay homage to the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar, while aerodynamic touches like carbon fiber deflectors and rear diffusers enhance both style and performance. The car’s HALO system, a safety feature borrowed from Formula 1, replaces the traditional A-pillar, adding both functionality and flair.
Under the hood, the PureSpeed is powered by a 4L V8 biturbo engine delivering 585 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Paired with AMG’s SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, the car accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 195 mph. Its fully open cabin is designed to amplify the driving experience and immerse occupants in the roar of the engine.
Inside, a two-tone crystal white and black cabin features AMG Performance seats, a custom IWC Schaffhausen analog clock and a Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System. Exclusive helmets with intercom systems ensure seamless communication at high speeds.
