Mercedes-AMG Introduces the 677-Horsepower EQE Electric Sedan

Continuing to expand on its electric vehicle lineup, Mercedes-AMG has now introduced the EQE mid-sized performance sedan.

As you’d expect from AMG, the EQE comes with immense power even if it’s designed as a family-friendly sedan, carrying a fully-electric powertrain that can pump out 617 horsepower and 701 pound-feet of torque in its standard configuration and an impressive 677 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package performance trim. Top speeds come in at 137 mph and 149 mph respectively, with the former making 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds while the latter makes it in just 3.2 seconds.

Battery-wise, the EQE will carry a pack capable of pushing up to 321 miles in total range, with 170kW charging to make 112 miles after replenishing for just 15 minutes. In usual Mercedes fashion, the performance sedan will also come with a range of other features, including the AWD AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system, an AMG Ride Control+ suspension system supporting adaptive adjustable damping, an AMG high-performance braking system, rear-axle steering, and an optional Hyperscreen dashboard.

There’s currently no pricing information yet for the Mercedes-AMG EQE, but it’s expected to arrive stateside in early 2023.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, Lexus unveiled a new electric supercar that will replace the LFA.
