Meek Mill Reflects on His Path to Success in Nostalgic “On My Soul” Visual

Meek Mill is “getting everything [he] aimed for” in the new music video for his single “On My Soul.”

Reflecting on the time between the inception of his career and the present-day, the visual showcases a montage of clips documenting the Philidelphia rapper’s ascent to being one of the best in the industry, giving fans a nostalgic and heartwarming look at his growth over the years.

One cut shows footage of a young Mill standing on the sidewalk rapping into a grainy camera. In the next scene, he’s performing to sold-out stadiums and hanging out with his crew, with cameos from his longtime friends JAY-Z, Drake, Bobby Shmurda and Swizz Beats.

Meanwhile, the single itself showcases the rapper’s lyricism. Over a jazzy instrumental, Mill intertwines themes of struggle and pain with moments of hope and achievement.

“Everybody praying I don’t go back, but it’s like, what you want me to do?” Mill raps. “And leave my people? I can’t leave my people, got that eye of the eagle.”

The song is one of 18 tracks on his highly-anticipated fifth EP Expensive Pain. Out today from Atlantic Records, the 18-track album features collaborations with Lil Durk, Lil Baby, Kehlani, A$AP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, Giggs, Young Thug, Vory, Lil Uzi Vert and Brent Faiyaz.

Meek Mill’s Expensive Pain is available on streaming platforms now.

In other music news, T-Pain tapped Kehlani and BIA for the “I Like Dat” remix.
