Martin Scorsese‘s upcoming Apple Original Films project, Killers of the Flower Moon has an official Fall release date.
The film is a historical drama that is centered around the serial targeting and murder of members of the oil-rich Osage tribe. The film features an ensemble of Oscar winners including Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Brendan Fraser, Jesse Plemons and Lily Gladstone. Produced by Apple Original Films, the movie will also be available to stream on Apple TV+ at an unspecified date. The film will be released in theaters in tandem with Paramount Pictures and Apple.
The Scorsese-directed film is based on David Grann’s best-selling book of the same name. The story of 1920s Oklahoma unfolds as it depicts some of the most horrific murders in American history towards members of Native American tribes. The murders led to a series of brutal crime investigations by the FBI. The film is expected to make its debut at Cannes Film Festival this Spring. Killers of the Flower Moon is slated to hit select theaters on October 6 and a wider release on October 20 of this year.
