Cultural icon Martha Stewart has earned an incredible feat recently, starring as the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model. The 81-year-old businesswoman becomes the oldest ever cover model for the magazine.
Stewart is amongst one of four cover models chosen for the upcoming issue. She stars alongside Megan Fox, Kim Petras and Brooks Nader. The shoot was set in the Dominican Republic and was photographed by Ruven Afanado. It was very evident from the cover that lifestyle icon has no signs of slowing down, sporting this season’s hottest swimsuits and shades.
Stewart is redefining the meaning of being a “sex symbol” for women everywhere. When asked about what it is like to be a sex symbol, she recently responded, “It’s a good example for others, actually. I’m a teacher. I’m trying to teach others that you can look great. There’s no reason to slump around.” SI Swimsuit editor in chief MJ Day comments on Stewart stating, “Never in her life has she let her circumstances dictate her outcome. She’s changed with the times—always one step ahead, it seems—to build a wide-reaching business empire.”
