Mark Cuban Announces Departure From 'Shark Tank'

Mark Cuban is leaving Shark Tank after 11 years.

The entrepreneur announced his departure in a recent appearance on All the Smoke, “I love it because it sends the message the American dream is alive and well.” He also touched on how the show has trained multiple generations of entrepreneurs from any part of America, in turn inspiring kids to put in the effort in launching their businesses. “That’s what happens, right? Now we’ve got people coming on saying I watched you when I was 10 years old. I’m like, f*ck. But we’re helping them right? I’ve invested in, I don’t know how many hundreds of companies,” Cuban said. “On a cash basis, I’m down a little bit, but on mark to market meeting, the companies are still in operation. I’m way up.”

ABC has yet to officially announce Cuban’s departure.

The Dallas Mavericks owner first appeared on Shark Tank as a guest in the second season before becoming one of the five main venture capitalists in season three. He’s stayed on the panel since then and has given Cuban and the other panelists several Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards nominations over the years.
