Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie has proven to be a major success, becoming a record-breaking film in a multitude of facets. Margot Robbie, the titular star and producer behind the summer blockbuster hit is set to make approximately $50 million USD in salary and box office bonuses.

Variety learned of the news from three individuals close to her deal. It is likely that Gerwig will also receive a major bonus due to the film’s unprecedented success. Opening just a month ago, Barbie is still the talk of the town, earning $526.3 million USD at the domestic box office and $657.6 million USD at the international box office to come out to approximately $1.18 billion USD. Currently, the film is the highest grossing live-action from a female director worldwide.

Barbie continues to top the charts and is the econd highest-grossing release in the history of Warner Bros., behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. The film is produced by Robbie’s film production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. She founded the company in 2014 with her now-husband Tom Ackerley, and friends Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr. The goal has been to tell women’s stories on screen and support women creators behind the scenes. So far, the company has had Oscar-nominated projects like Promising Young Woman along with Birds of Prey and Netflix series, Maid.
