Manchester United lose interest in Antonio Conte after realising huge costs

Manchester United lose interest in Antonio Conte after realising huge costs

There has been a lot of speculation recently about the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

The 48-year-old’s job at Old Trafford has been a hot subject of debate after last weekend’s embarrassing home defeat against Liverpool.

The Red Devils have dropped to seventh in the Premier League standings after failing to win in their last four matches.

They have been linked with several names to replace the Norwegian boss, including Antonio Conte.

However, as per a report from the Daily Star, United are now losing interest in the Italian football expert.

The Manchester side have reportedly realised that it would be hugely expensive to hire the services of the 52-year-old.

It is said that he would demand a lucrative £18m-a-season contract until 2025.  Additionally, he would like to bring in his own team of backroom staff, which would likely cost the club millions in compensation to Solskjaer and his coaches Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.

Antonio Conte has been without a job since he left Inter Milan in the summer after leading them to the Serie A title for the first time in eleven years.

He also has the distinction of winning the Premier League title when he was at the helm of affairs at Chelsea.

While the Italian also led Juventus to three consecutive league titles after taking charge of the club in 2011.
