Manchester United have contacted Brendan Rodgers after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager, according to reports.
The 48-year-old is currently managing at Leicester City but he could be convinced to leave the East Midlands side to take over at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, United have made contact with Rodgers as they look to replace Solskjaer.
It is said that they are ready to fork out £8 million in compensation to Leicester.
Ole lost his job at Old Trafford on Sunday after remaining at the helm of affairs for nearly three years.
The Premier League club took this drastic decision after the Red Devils suffered a 4-1 thrashing at Watford last weekend. With this defeat, they have dropped to eighth in the league standings, with 12 points behind the league leaders Chelsea.
The Manchester side have been linked with several big names so far, including Zinedine Zidane and Erik Ten Hag. But Rodgers seems to be the most likely candidate to take over at United.
The Northern Irish is a highly qualified manager who is capable of shining at the Theatre of Dreams.
He has done a brilliant job at Leicester City, where he secured them consecutive Europa League football in his first two seasons.
The Foxes also won the FA Cup last season under the 48-year-old.
However, not all fans will be happy if Rodgers is handed the coveted position, considering he managed Liverpool between 2012 and 2015.
