LY Partners With Avant Arte on Two New Artist Editions

LY Partners With Avant Arte on Two New Artist Editions

LY has built her career through a fictional character named LUV, who is placed in real-life urban situations. Inspired partly by the Tokyo-based artist’s own personal life, LY is set to unveil two new editions with Avant Arte.

Confused LUV ($4390 USD) shows LY’s unassuming character hunched over in gloom, anxiously looking out into the distance. Although isolation certainly was a theme in LY’s work prior to the pandemic, the sculpture is certainly reflective of the heightened despair that has been felt around the world. Made of bronze, the hand-painted sculpture is an edition of 50 and sizes in at 6.3 inches high and 8.3 inches wide.

The similarly titled, Still Confused ($2,309 USD), is a 16-color screenprint showing LUV in the same fetal position amidst an empty avenue dominated by a grayscale palette. The artwork is also an edition of 50 and printed on Somerset Tub Sized 410gsm paper with UV spot varnish details.

Confused LUV and Still Confused can both be inquired through a drawing via Avant Arte, which ends on January 20, 2022 at 1pm GMT.

Elsewhere, Ronan Bouroullec experiments with clay reliefs in new exhibition.
