The Larchmont store sells luxe labels at achievable prices without sacrificing quality for Westchester County shoppers.
Lisa Nayakrit wants you to wear luxury labels — at an attainable price point that is. Her store, Luxury Fashion NY in Larchmont, makes it very clear that the name of the game isn’t all consignment but rather luxury brands, such as Valentino and Louis Vuitton, at prices that don’t break the bank. You read that correctly: Brand-new items for way less than retail. “Ever since I was young, I’ve had a love for fashion,” says Nayakrit. “I always wanted to wear these pieces but could never afford it. I started shopping sales a lot and realized how many people didn’t understand that owning designer brands was reachable.”
So how does Nayakrit do it? After fostering a relationship with sales associates in both big-box stores and boutiques, she’s able to purchase items at a wholesale price, forwarding that savings on to her customers. She also works as a personal shopper for those clients who know they want something but can’t quite nail down their styles. This is where so much of Nayakrit’s joy sparks from. “I enjoy sourcing a lot and finding a good deal,” she says. “Selling it to someone who I know is going to appreciate it while saving them a few dollars.”
Nayakrit has gained national traction by adding a fun, exciting element to her store: Wednesday-night flash sales on Instagram live. “It can get really competitive,” she says with a laugh. Buyers from across the country tune into the weekly live stream where she rolls out the latest items and finds, that can sometimes drum up heated bidding wars among the viewers. Upon payment, buyers can either come pick the item up or have it shipped to their door, a service that Nayakrit has built her fanbase on. “I wanted to give people like me the ability to buy quality at a lesser price, while retaining that experience of exclusivity.”
If there’s something you’ve got your eye on, you better act fast or face the FOMO. The brands that Nayakrit can’t seem to keep in stock? Gucci, Hermes, and Chanel. “Many of those are boutique based, in some cases if you don’t have a client profile or a relationship with a sales associate, they won’t even work with you, so it brings me joy to bridge that gap for my customers.”
