Luxury fashion brand Thom Browne debuts new store at Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach

One of the newest retailers to open its doors at Royal Poinciana Plaza will make a big splash this holiday season.

Thom Browne, a luxury fashion brand that made its Palm Beach debut Nov. 13, has been tapped by the center to design its annual holiday surfboard tree.

Set to be unveiled Thursday as part of the Royal’s annual tree-lighting ceremony, the tree will be adorned with an array of bespoke surfboards, each crafted and styled in the designer’s signature stripes and color patterns, the center said. Its topper will pay homage to the designer’s dog, Hector.

Thom Browne launched his eponymous brand in 2001 with a collection of men’s suits, and later expanded it to include ready-to-wear, accessories and fragrance collections for men, women and children. 

The Royal Poinciana store is the brand’s first brick-and-mortar location in Palm Beach County. The brand also has stores in Miami, New York City, San Francisco, Costa Mesa, California, Toronto and Vancouver, British Columbia.

“We are overjoyed to partner with Thom Browne to not only design this year’s surfboard tree, but bring an incredible new retail experience to The Royal,” said Samantha David, president of WS Development, which operates Royal Poinciana Plaza. “Thom’s cutting-edge fashion vision, seamlessly intertwined with Palm Beach’s iconic coastal lifestyle, will deliver an unparalleled shopping experience for locals and visitors alike.” 

The store is in the former Pace Gallery location in Royal Poinciana Plaza.

It will be a temporary location, the plaza said, but a closing date has not been announced.

The store will offer a carefully curated selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, David said. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

“Thom Browne is celebrated globally for his cutting-edge vision, signature stripes, unique colorways, and avant-garde sensibilities,” David said. “It’s a brand that constantly pushes boundaries while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.”

The brand is a good fit for Royal Poinciana Plaza, David said, and joins a selection of luxury brands spanning fashion, accessories, lifestyle and beauty at the center.

“This exciting collaboration promises an extraordinary shopping experience that blends high fashion with pure fun,” she said. “We believe Thom Browne will add a fresh, contemporary touch to the fashion scene here in Palm Beach.”
