Lucky 15 Tips – Saturday’s 1052/1 Lucky 15 from Ascot & Haydock

Lucky 15 tips for 20 November include Buzz at Ascot

There are more Lucky 15 tips from SportsLens experts on Betfair Chase Day, 20 November, this Saturday from both Ascot and Haydock. The supporting cards have plenty of punts that look worth a wager. With combined odds of a massive 1052/1, our latest Lucky 15 bet needs a closer look.

Join William Hill, using promo code M40, and try this Lucky 15 for size after you wager £10 and get £40 – £30 in free bets for the sportsbook, plus a £10 casino bonus.

If each selection from the Lucky 15 tipster wins, a £1 unit stake returns £1,053 which includes a 429/1 fourfold. That is the kind of Lucky 15 accumulator we can all get behind! All prices quoted were correct at the time of writing, but odds do fluctuate and change. Here are our Lucky 15 tips for 20 November one leg at a time:

Lucky 15 Tips Leg 1 – Ask A Honey Bee (Ascot, 12:55)

Fergal O’Brien is having a fine season, so Ask A Honey Bee may well make it third time lucky over fences in the extended 2m 7f novices’ limited handicap chase at Ascot. After running in four Irish Points, this seven-year-old hit a hat-trick in bumpers. Anything Ask A Honey Bee achieved over hurdles was a bonus as this sphere looks his bag.

This gelding by Ask chased home Lord Accord on his chase bow on reappearance and then bumped into Threeunderthrufive at Exeter. The winner has since gone in again in a really hot novice contest at Cheltenham. That looks like strong form, and there’s nothing the calibre of Threeundrethrufive here. Odds of 9/4 about Ask A Honey Bee appeal here.

Leg 2 – Tommy’s Oscar (Haydock, 1:15)

Now back down to the same mark as his fine third in the Scottish Champion Hurdle, Tommy’s Oscar looks well worth siding with in the extended 2m 2f handicap hurdle at Haydock. Trained by Ann Hamilton and owned by her husband Ian, the six-year-old Oscar gelding drops back in trip slightly here.

Tommy’s Oscar was a fine third to Bass Rock in a class 2 handicap hurdle like this at Carlisle last time out. Haydock may suit him better, however. Despite meeting Calico off 3lb worse terms from Ayr, that one was very disappointing in the Welsh Champion Hurdle. It would be no surprise if Tommy’s Oscar bounced back and he is 6/1 to do just that.

Leg 3 – Bass Rock (Haydock, 2:25)

The aforementioned Bass Rock has an attractive racing weight for his first try over 3m in the Grade 3 Stayers’ Handicap Hurdle at Haydock. Trained in Scotland by Sandy Thomson, this five-year-old son of Martaline is up 7lb for a five-length victory at Carlisle when last in action. However, the manner of his win suggests he is well worth a crack at this higher level.

Bass Rock pulled clear of his rivals up the Carlisle hill. He sneaks in towards the foot of the weights off 10st 7lb. He always appealed as the type who may progress in handicaps, and the fact that connections pitch him into this suggest they fancy their chances. In a typically open renewal, odds of 8/1 about Bass Rock look value.

Leg 4 – Buzz (Ascot, 2:40)

The banker of our Lucky 15 tips is Buzz in the extended 2m 3f Grade 2 Coral Hurdle at Ascot. Race fit from winning the Cesarewitch on the Flat for Nicky Henderson, this seven-year-old son of Motivator bring strong form from his last two outing over the obstacles as well. Buzz ran fifth in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury and the race has worked out well.

As the winner, third, fourth and sixth have all come out and won races this season, it is very strong form. Buzz also chased home Abacadabras in the Aintree Hurdle on his final start last season, so this is an ease in grade for him. He receives weight from main market rivals Goshen and Song For Someone, so odds of 11/10 appeal.
