Lotus Cars Partners with KEF for Limited Edition LS60 Speaker Set

Renowned British car maker Lotus Cars has teamed up with British audio solutions company KEF to produce a limited edition run of Lotus-branded LS60 Wireless speakers — one of the brand’s most powerful home audio offerings.

Founded in Maidstone, Kent in 1961, KEF has continued its aim of producing high-end audio products that look as good as they sound. Some of its most popular offerings include HiFi speakers, subwoofers, architecture speakers, wireless speakers and headphones.

As for the KEF LS60 Wireless Lotus Edition, the brand has opted for a very scaled-back approach and subtle branding elements. Details include a finish in an iconic British racing green, often found on Lotus vehicles, as well as subtle lettering in gold at the front reading “Lotus NYO” and “Lotus Edition” in green at the back.

Technically, the towering speakers, which stand at three and a half feet, offer a large variety of input capabilities, as well as wireless streaming features like AirPlay2, Google Chromecast, Roon Ready and more.

Drive units, per speaker, include an HF of 0.75in via a vented aluminum dome and an MF of 4in via an aluminum cone. The frequency range of the speakers is measured at 24 to 36 kHz but is dependent on EQ settings notes the maker — overall power output is rated at 1,400W, enough to fill any room.

The release of the LS60 speakers comes shortly after KEF was tapped to outfit the sound systems for Lotus Cars’ latest vehicles, the Emira and Eletre, acting as a sort of commemorative release. Those interested can order the speakers now or find more info on them through KEF’s official site.
