This year’s Super Bowl saw the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams face-off at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The Rams have come out on top and are officially the Super Bowl LVI Champions, ending Hollywood’s 21-year NFL drought. This marks the first time the Rams have won the Super Bowl since 2000.
The Rams led 7-3 in the first quarter with QB Matthew Stafford found Odell Beckham Jr. for the first touchdown of the Super Bowl. Bengals’ QB, Joe Burrows throws three incomplete passes, but Evan McPherson scores a field goal, putting Cincinnati on the board. Rams make the second touchdown in the second quarter as Stafford finds Cooper Kupp in the end zone, but the Bengals block the extra point attempt. Bengals are close behind scoring their own touchdown just before the Super Bowl Halftime performance featuring Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige. The Rams continue to lead the Bengals with 13-10 by halftime, looking in control in the first-half of the game.
Bengals get the ball rolling at the beginning of the third, where Burrow, almost immediately finds wide receiver Tee Higgins for a 75-yard touchdown pass. With an additional extra-point attempt, the Bengals took the lead from the Rams and stayed ahead towards the end of the fourth quarter. However, with 1:25 left of the game, Stafford hits a touchdown to Cooper Kupp bringing the Rams back to lead with 23-20. With just under two minutes in the fourth quarter, the Bengals were unable to tie up the game as Aaron Donald takes down Burrow on the fourth down. Stafford takes a knee and lets the clock run, securing the win for the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams end the game with 23-20 to become the Super Bowl LVI Champions.
