The UK is being blessed with a brand new radio station that keeps community at the forefront, seeing Lewisham-based venue Sister Midnight launch its own online channel. Sister Midnight FM will shine a light on South East London, uniting its inhabitants through smooth beats and collaborative initiatives.
The radio station coincides with the opening of Sister Midnight’s physical destination, acting as the first community-owned site in the British capital. In late 2021, local pub The Ravensbourne Arms was shutting down and ignited a petition to transform the space into an interactive and live music venue.
The campaign saw ravishing success, gathering £260,000 GBP in public donations from over 800 international investors. After a £700,000 GBP offer by a private client, the launch of Sister Midnight was confirmed.
The FM channel will welcome music segments from rising talent, including DJ Gilla, Laani, and Rohan Rakhit while hosting live events for all to join. A talk by women’s football team, The Deptford Ravens, is scheduled to discuss local gameday news ahead of Lewisham Anti-Raids Group sitting down to examine peaceful action against neighborhood immigration raids.
Tune into Sister Midnight FM via the radio station’s website now.
