With just a month to go before its long-awaited release, Warner Bros. Japan has now released the final trailer for the two upcoming live-action adaptation films of Fullmetal Alchemist. The first film to arrive on May 20 will be Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter — The Avenger Scar, which will follow the story arc of Scar himself as he seeks vengeance on the state alchemists after the battle and genocide during the Ishval civil war.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter — The Last Transmutation will then follow on June 24, wrapping up the entire storyline for the two Elric brothers and their quest in earning their physical bodies back, which brings them into a deeper conflict with the Homunculi that runs deep into the roots of the state itself.
As you’d expect, the two films will also introduce a whole host of new characters to the live-action franchise, including Scar, Lan Fan, Ling Yao, Solf J. Kimblee, King Bradley, Alex Louis Armstrong, Olivier Mira Armstrong, Van Hohenheim, and more.
In other related news, Netflix and Tsuburaya Productions have announced a final season for Ultraman to come in 2023.
