Westbrook noted that though Sweet isn’t feeling great, “He seems to be holding off the really bad stuff.”
The quartet is nominated for group of the year, and are set to perform at the 56th annual ceremony. Other performers include Miranda Lambert and Elle King, who are set to open the show with their new song “Drunk (and I Don’t Wanna Go Home)”; Dierks Bentley, who will take on U2’s 1984 hit “Pride” with The War and Treaty; Blake Shelton, who’ll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of his single “Austin”; and many others.
The show will be hosted by Mickey Guyton and Keith Urban, who are also performing. Various Nashville venues will be hosting the performances, including the Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe, and the Grand Ole Opry House. The ceremony airs at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, and can be streamed live and on demand via Paramount+.
