Inter Miami and Lionel Messi are officially heading over to Hong Kong for an exhibition match in the new year. As a part of the club’s first-ever international tour, Inter Miami will be making their first stop in the city of Hong Kong.
On travelling to Hong Kong and Asia, Inter Miami CF Managing Owner said in a statement, “We’re very excited to be visiting Hong Kong and indeed Asia for the very first time. From the very beginning we set out to be a global club at Inter Miami. This is a wonderful opportunity to do just that; we hope to enthuse and inspire new Inter Miami fans in Hong Kong and across Asia who share our passion for fútbol.” David Beckham, who is a co-owner of the club, has long had ties in Asia and has been known to stop over in Hong Kong and Macao often. He said, “Hong Kong is a beautiful city with a great sports scene. Throughout my career, I have spent a lot of time in Asia – I am so pleased to have the opportunity to bring Inter Miami to play our first international tour match in this fantastic city.”
Inter Miami is set to take on the Hong Kong Team in early 2024. The match will be hosted at the 40,000-capacity Hong Kong Stadium. Chief Business Officer Xavier Asensi said, ” spent several years living and working in Hong Kong, so I am familiar with the incredible culture and the deep passion for fútbol. We are looking forward to bringing Inter Miami to play in front of these special fans who otherwise may not have been able to see us in person.” Tickets for the match held on Sunday, February 4 will go on sale starting on December 15 exclusively on Klook and will range between $880 HKD to $4,880 HKD. The Inter Miami CF team will also have an open training session on February 3 at Hong Kong Stadium with tickets ranging from $580 HKD to $780 HKD.
