Lil Nas X’s Label Gives Him Green Light To Drop More New Music Following “Satanic Controversy”

Lil Nas X’s Label Gives Him Green Light To Drop More New Music Following “Satanic Controversy”

The controversy surrounding Lil Nas X‘s forthcoming debut studio album, MONTERO, has been at the forefront of music news as of late. The artist took to TikTok recently to address some of these rumors, seemingly joking that his label is finally allowing him to release additional new music. He also took the opportunity to give fans a teaser of the upcoming track, “Industry Baby.”

The song “MONTERO” recently became the headline as the accompanying visuals and promotional material for the track seemed to have caused quite a stir amongst audiences. Lil Nas utilized satanic imagery and queer-friendly content in his video as well as subsequent racy performance that garnered backlash towards the hitmaker.

The controversy later landed the multi-faceted artist in some hot water with his label but it appears that they are now on good terms. Lil Nas confirmed on TikTok with a video captioned, “When the satanic controversy dies down and your label says you are allowed to release new music.” It is important to note that Lil Nas dropped new track, “SUN GOES DOWN” back in May, however additional releases have been put on pause due to the backlash.

The TikTok video saw Lil Nas tease fans with a short snippet of “Industry Baby” which was first teased last October. However, it is expected that the latest teaser is a new version of the previously leaked song.

In other music news, MF DOOM will officially have a street named after him in Long Beach, New York.
