Lil Nas X is getting biblical on his latest single, “J Christ.” The artist began teasing the song just earlier this week, writing that it “is dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time.”
The post was accompanied by a photo that depicted Nas X dressed up as Jesus Christ on the cross. He’s never been one to shy away from controversy and naturally, the post upset some viewers.
Those sensitive to the matter probably won’t want to watch the newly-debuted music video for “J Christ,” where Nas X is approached by a long line of worshippers, including lookalikes to Ye and former President Barack Obama.
After being embraced by his tribe, Nas X plunges into the depths of Hell before playing basketball with the devil – who is notably wearing the artist’s Mschf Air Max 97 collaboration, also known as his “Satan shoes.”
Other clips see Nas X shearing some sheep and dancing with his crew as water floods in the city in a satiric nod to Noah’s ark nod.
“J Christ” marks his first song since 2022’s “Late to da Party” (featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again) and his contribution to the League of Legends World Championship, “Star Walkin.’” His debut album, Montero, was released in 2021.
