Lil Durk Announces Collaborative Album With Metro Boomin

In an interview with Ebro for Apple Music, Lil Durk confirmed that his next full-length project will be a joint album with Metro Boomin.

“As far as next album, you done heard something,” he said jokingly when discussing his next record. “Nah, it’s really the Metro.”

Metro Boomin previously teased the collaborative project in March, when a fan on Twitter asked whether he and Lil Durk still had plans to put out a joint album. “@MetroBoomin ever dropping your durk collab album,” the fan inquired, to which he answered, “Yes still otw we spoke about it the other day.” The duo has not yet disclosed an official title or release date for the record.

While speaking with Ebro, Durk also spoke about his experience working with Lil Baby on their joint record, The Voice of the Heroes, which was released in June of last year and featured guest appearances from Travis Scott on “Hats Off,” Meek Mill on “Still Runnin,” Young Thug on “Up The Side” and Rod Wave on “Rich Off Pain.”

“We was vibing so crazy in the studio, we had to. We was just in that zone. He who he is, he turned up and actually can rap. He ended up rapping his ass off, I’m changing my energy,” Durk says in the clip below. “Matter of fact, we both made each other start writing, too. He would come say something, and I was, ‘Hold on.’ I’d say [censored], he’d be, ‘Hold on.’ So that’s like the energy you would want. You would want that energy. We got so many records that we ain’t put on there.”

Stay tuned for more information on Durk’s next project with Metro Boomin. Watch his full interview with Ebro for Apple Music above.
