Continuing to expand on its premium gaming products through the UltraGear line, South Korean tech company LG has now launched a new UltraGear GP9 gaming speaker designed for those who want to retain an immersive gaming experience while taking a break from their headphones.
Designed to be a standalone unit, the GP9 carries 3D Gaming Sound technology to provide 7.1 virtual surround sound. The speakers are Hi-Res Audio certified to make sure you’re getting the clearest sound, while its Game Genre Optimizer allows you to switch between a first-person shooter mode and a real-time strategy mode, adjusting the speakers according to your gaming needs. The ES9038PRO Hi-Fi Quad DAC inside provides more balanced sound while reducing noise, and a built-in battery can provide a playtime of roughly five hours on a single use. Rounding out the speakers are various input ports including USB-C, AUX, Bluetooth connectivity and an optical port.
For those interested, LG’s UltraGear GP9 gaming speaker will be available in September for roughly $470 USD.
Elsewhere in gaming gear, Sony’s newly revised PlayStation 5 carries a significantly smaller heatsink.
