Tottenham Hotspur were lining up a move for the Italian manager Antonio Conte but the deal seems to have collapsed.
According to the Guardian, the Londoners have now called off their pursuit of the former Chelsea manager but they are set to hire Fabio Paratici as the club’s new sporting director.
It will be interesting to see who they turn to next as they prepare to replace Jose Mourinho in the long run.
The Portuguese manager was sacked on the 19th of April and former Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has been acting as the interim boss ever since.
The Londoners have been linked with a move for the Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino as well.
Daniel Levy must look to appoint a manager who can transform the site immediately and get them back into the Champions League at the very least.
Furthermore, key players like Harry Kane are being linked with summer moves away from the club and the new manager will be expected to convince these players to stay beyond the summer.
Conte helped Inter Milan win the league title this past season and he could have been an ambitious appointment for the Londoners.
Some of the Tottenham fans have reacted to the news of the deal collapsing and here is what they had to say.
Will be interesting to see the fall out from this. Spurs will probably make out they never wanted him and conte will dish the dirt on their ‘project’ and the fact they have no money to spend unless they sell Kane.

If we dont sign Conte my association with Spurs ends. I supported the club as a kid, when they came to Swaziland n when they had Gazza n won their last FA Cup. As fans we have suffered n lived for empty promises from Alan Sugar to Levy. Enough IS Enough

So basically Levy doesn’t want a winner

Levy doesn’t need to be ambitious, just needs to scrape top 6 for european revenue. Potter’s a cheaper attempt
