Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made incredible progress in its capabilities. From creating fictional podcast interviews to imagining the future of fashion and footwear, AI continues to push industries forward. Pivoting back to a more traditional tech context, Lenovo is set to break new ground in laptop hardware as it introduces the world’s first dedicated AI chip in a gaming laptop.
Landing in the new Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, 7, 5i and 5, the Lenovo LA AI chip is designed to optimize the laptops by dynamically adjusting for the highest performance output. The chip powers Lenovo AI Engine+, the software machine learning algorithm that drives the on-the-fly adaptations. 13th Gen Intel processors back the “i” variants while the others feature AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors. All are able to be equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4000 Series Laptop GPUs as well.
Release details for the four models has the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i kicking things off in March at a price of $1,999 USD. Following this, the Legion Pro 7, 5i and 5 are slated to arrive in April at prices of €2,699 EUR (approx. $2,873 USD), $1,480 USD and $1,460 USD respectively.
