Lee Health announces Pivio, a virtual 12-week program to help cultivate a healthy lifestyle

Lee Health is kicking off a new program to help the Southwest Florida community transform their health. Pivio is a first-of-its-kind national program built on the foundation of the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) and certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Lee Health is excited to bring this program to Southwest Florida this summer.

Spaces are available now for the 12-week program that begins with an orientation on July 25. The community can learn more about Pivio on Thursday, July 13, or Tuesday, July 18, at 5:30 p.m. during a virtual informational/question and answer session.

Participants will learn how to build healthy, lasting habits for long-term results and how to incorporate lifestyle medicine into their everyday lives. The 12-week program consists of 18 virtual group sessions that will give participants a sustainable plan of action, rooted in effective behavior change techniques that are built on the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: Plant-rich eating pattern, physical activity, meaningful social connections, avoidance of risky substances, sleep and rest, and stress management.

Proven clinical outcomes of Pivio include (on average):

• 17-pound weight loss

• Body Mass Index (BMI) decrease of 6.7 points

• Low-density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol drop of 21 milligrams per deciliter (MG/DL)

• Total cholesterol drop of 28 MG/DL

• Normalized blood pressure in most cases

Spaces are now available. Please email Erika Graziani, MS, RD, outpatient nutrition program coordinator, registered dietitian and certified lifestyle medicine practitioner, at Erika.Graziani@LeeHealth.Org for more information on Pivio or to attend either the July 13 or July 18 virtual informational sessions at 5:30 p.m.
