LeBron James has proven time and time again that he is considered one of the most notable NBA greats. His title as one of the greatest players in the league was cemented at this year’s 2022 All-Star Weekend when he was recognized and honored as part of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. ESPN ranked the Los Angeles Lakers superstar second, just behind Michael Jordan.
As King James continues to build his own legacy in the sport, he sat down with Kenny Smith just before the All-Stars to discuss his 2016 NBA championship and coming back from a 3-1 down to win the title for Cleveland. James says that his ability to lead his team from a 3-1 deficit showed him that he deserved the title of “greatest basketball player.” James said,
“That moment I was like I am the greatest basketball player people have ever seen in all the facets. Like I can play 1 to 5, I can guard 1 to 5, just literally like doing something that’s never been done in the history of the sport. Teams that go down 3-1 were like 0 for 32 in finals history. There was nobody ever coming out of there and nobody gave us a chance. I just felt like ain’t nobody better than me at this.”
James, who is now a four-time NBA Champion, four-time regular-season MVP, four-time Finals MVP and 18-consecutive All-Star starter, has been acknowledged globally as one of the best players to ever play the game in basketball history.
