NBA has announced that Lebron James and Nets forward Kevin Durant currently top the All-Star votes for the Western and Eastern conferences respectively with more than 3 million votes each. Joining James and Durant are Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving who lead the votes in the guard positions.
In the first returns, it seems that James and Durant are set to lead their respective conferences once again following Team LeBron’s narrow 163-160 victory over Team Durant in last year’s All-Star game. Runner-ups in each conference include MVP race leader Nikola Jokić (Western) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Eastern) for the Frontcourt and Luka Dončić (Western) and Donovan Mitchell (Eastern) for guards who both recently broke their respective franchise points records.
Fan submissions account for 50% of the overall vote to determine the starters for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game with NBA players and a media panel accounting for 25% of the vote each.
