Following the massive success of season one — which debuted to high acclaim with a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes — Riot Games and Netflix‘s League of Legends animated spin-off Arcane has now been greenlit for a second season.
According to reports, the streaming giant has confirmed the return of the series and revealed that season two is already in production. While no specific details have been provided regarding where the upcoming season will take Arcane, fans can expect it’ll pick up from where the first season left off following the massive cliff-hanger at its finale.
As expected, Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell and Katie Leung will all be reprising their roles as Vi, Jinx and Caitlyn Kiramman respectively. “We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane‘s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” said the show’s co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee.
There’s currently no release date yet for Arcane season two, so fans of the show should definitely stay tuned for more updates to come.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Guillermo del Toro’s psychological thriller Nightmare Alley has released its full trailer.
