LAVOIE Aquires E-Bike Label Vanmoof

LAVOIE Aquires E-Bike Label Vanmoof

Early this summer, Amsterdam-based e-bike imprint Vanmoof was declared bankrupt by its local authorities. The rising label gained fame during the COVID-19 pandemic and is notable for its sleek build that pushes technical advancements and sophisticated designs forward.

It has been announced that electronic transportation manufacturer LAVOIE has acquired Vanmoof. The McLaren Applied-backed company will aim to reignite the Vanmoof business through stable infrastructure that will continue to develop the brand’s premium offerings.

Vanmoof’s e-bikes will expand alongside LAVOIE’s e-scooter operations through an international urban approach. The duo will look to redefine eco-friendly city transportation, promoting safe and active lifestyles.

Speaking on the acquisition, LAVOIE CEO Eliott Wertheimer says: “With its next generation of e-bikes, smart technology, innovative design, and loyal customer base, VanMoof and LAVOIE fit together perfectly. VanMoof has 190,000 customers globally, and our commitment is to continue to keep those riders on the road while we stabilize and efficiently grow the VanMoof business and continue to develop its world-class products.”
