Lauren Tsai is set t orelease her new giclée print for “Ending Song.” Presented in Tsai’s signature style, the artwork depicts an eery and unsettling scene where a cran-shaped figure composed of mechanical parts appears to be cradling an unconscious girl with its claw-like, distorted wing.
“I began “Ending Song” in 2021 while living in a friend’s guest room and feeling the desire to create another large painting before Tokyo. At the time, I’d felt distant from my dreams and self in a way which terrified me. But, an old idea resurfaced, leading me to combine various images – industrial towers from the beach I drove to most nights, crows from my hometown, and Astrid who is always there. This painting was both a start and promise to myself,” Tsai wrote on her both website and Instagram.
Measuring 19.5 inches in width and 26 inches tall, “Ending Song” is digitally printed on 310 gsm Hahnemühle archival printing paper using archival pigmented ink. Every print is hand-signed and individually numbered by the artist herself. The bottom border is complete with a unique embossing spotlighting a large sleeping girl’s head amidst a sci-fi-esque settlement.
Priced at $380 USD, Lauren Tsai’s “Ending Song” giclée print will be available for a 24-hour order window starting March 18, 6 p.m. PT. on UNREAL INC’s official website.
