Love Island returns to our screens this summer, and with it comes all the drama, side chats, and couplings (and decouplings and recouplings) to look forward to. One thing we’re also excited about for season seven? Host Laura Whitmore‘s enviable summer wardrobe, which is sure to be full of colourful prints, sparkly accessories, and sky-high platforms — all of which we’ll be lusting over and adding to our sartorial wish lists.
We’ve long been fans of Whitmore’s personal style, which has always been fun and playful with an unexpected edge. In the last couple of years, the star — with the help of her stylist Emma Lane — has been looking back to the ’70s for fashion inspiration, wearing more psychedelic prints, colourful minidresses, and statement suits with wide-leg trousers. And the nostalgia for ’70s style didn’t stop when Whitmore arrived at the Love Island villa this June. Her outfit for the first episode featured some funky platforms from British shoe designer Kat Maconie and a coord top and skirt set in a floral fabric that recalled the blocky, bold prints popular in that era. (It also included hair accessories that were 100 percent our type on paper, literally.)
