Latto on Friday dropped off her hotly-anticipated track “Wheelie,” with 21 Savage, alongside an accompanying, motorcycle-filled music video.
After teasing the track’s featured artist with several hints in February, Latto unveiled the official cover art for “Wheelie” on Instagram on Wednesday, confirming that 21 Savage offers a few guest verses on the single only two days prior to its release.
The video, directed by Colin Tilley, sees Latto performing a wheelie on a highway and dancing among a crowd of colorful vintage cars in a parking lot. “Pop it like a wheelie / Hop on top and I go silly,” she raps on the chorus before 21 Savage takes the mic in the foreground of a motorbike stunt performer flying through the sky.
“Call my jeweler like, ‘I wanna go blind,’” he raps on his verse. “Thirty some’ watches, I ain’t never on time.”
The track arrives just over 18 months following the release of her major-label debut album Queen Of Da Souf, which helped push the Atlanta rapper into the spotlight alongside her placement on the 2020 XXL Freshman Class list. Latto has since released her highest-charting single, “Big Energy,” which secured the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart in January and broke into the Hot 100’s top 20 just days ago.
“Wheelie” marks the second single to arrive off of Latto’s forthcoming sophomore album, following “Big Energy.” Watch the rapper’s music video with 21 Savage above.
