Latto is talking her S.H.I.T louder than ever before. On the rapper’s long-awaited third studio delivery dubbed Sugar Honey Iced Tea, Latto has leveled up yet again, flexing her artistic versatility, wearing her hometown pride on her sleeve and making it all look way too easy.
Rounding out at 21 tracks and clocking in just over an hour in length, Latto takes the lead on Sugar Honey Iced Tea, even with the stacked slate of Southern artists she entrusts to rep Atlanta alongside her. Contributions come from Mariah The Scientist, Teezo Touchdown, Ciara, Young Nudy, Megan Thee Stallion, Hunxho and Coco Jones on the first disk and Cardi B, Flo Milli and Megan once again (for the infamous “Sunday Service” remix) on the second disk.
Alongside the release of the album, Latto unleashed the visuals for the opening cut “Georgia Peach,” a cinematic first look into the visual world of Sugar Honey Iced Tea that she’s beginning to roll out –”Lemme know which one to shoot next, ima get it done next week,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Pullin’ up outside of Magic / N*ggas know I’m from Jurassic / Keepin’ that shit in my jacket / I’m with the boys in the hood right now,” she spits on the first verse of “Georgia Peach,” delivering the lyrics from a handful of local landscapes.
