Como Orchard to open this September
Opening in successive phases, starting in September, Como Orchard at Bideford Road launches with the soft opening of the 156-room Como Metropolitan Singapore, the group’s first hotel in its home country. It features a beautiful rooftop pool, restaurant and bar.
The rest of the building includes two floors of fashion retail curated by Club21 for dynamic, seasonal collections and pop-up partnerships.
The new urban flagship by luxury global wellness brand Como Shambhala finesses a thoughtful, diagnostic approach to holistic wellbeing, and is enriched with numerous classes, workshops and multi-day wellness paths.
The new Como Cuisine restaurant expands the brand’s commitment to creating some of the best food in Singapore — a reputation already established at Como Dempsey. Internationally-acclaimed French pastry chef Cédric Grolet, and restaurateur Simon Kim of Cote Korean Steakhouse, the beloved Michelin-starred restaurant in New York and Miami will skillfully deliver the menu for Cédric Grolet Singapore and Cote Singapore respectively.
Chanel injects a tinge of sweetness for the bride-to-be at Couture Fall 2023/24
For those who look to inject some Parisian elegance into their wardrobe, designer Virginie Viard has been hard at work to make that happen. For the Couture Fall 2023 show, she worked with organza, silk chiffons, and inlaid lace with the composition of floral and graphic motifs to portray a sensitive but bold Parisienne.
“If we’re in Paris,” she adds, “and this time we’re in Paris itself, on the quayside. The street and the colourful paving stones call for both sophistication and simplicity.” To imagine an Haute Couture show on the banks of the Seine, with Vanessa Paradis as the embodiment of Parisienne allure, is like a journey through a world of images and emotions, of permanence and beauty.
We observed the softness and play of the materials used and reckoned that a blushing bride deserves this collection.

Bangkok’s Praya Palazzo marks 100th birthday in delicious fashion
Charming hotel Praya Palazzo celebrates its 100th birthday with a ton of activities, but foodies, do sit up and pay attention: Michelin Guide-acclaimed restaurant, Praya Dining is putting together a special dinner set-menu, comprising dishes made from recipes sourced from cookbooks dating back over 100-years. The birthday package also includes accommodation, daily breakfast, Thai-style afternoon tea, and an accompanying tour of the charismatic neighborhood of Banglamphu which lies opposite Praya Palazzo on the other side of the Chao Phraya River.
Menu highlights include appetisers like latieng (sauteed minced prawn with onions, and peanuts wrapped with a delicate egg net) and a salad of Pla Neu (grilled beef with betel leaves and fresh herb). Mains include moo pad som siew (stir-fried pork with yellow chili paste), and chu chee goong maenam (deep-fried river prawn with red curry sauce.) We say it’s a feast fit for a king!
