For comedian Kyle Mooney’s next bit, he’s adopted the moniker Kyle M and released his debut album, The Real Me. Stream it below.
Entirely recorded, written, and produced by Mooney, The Real Me features 11 songs and clocks in at under 20 minutes. In a press release, the album is described as “a singular artistic vision unbound by genre,” spanning across rock, country, dance, and R&B.
In the tongue-in-cheek mini-documentary accompanying the album, Mooney visits his purported childhood home and reminisces about his longtime love for music — all while insisting “there is nothing comedic about the Kyle M project.”

Naturally, The Real Me offers plenty of laughs with amateurish tracks like “Kid of the Range,” where Mooney sings, “I’m just a lonely cowboy/ Who’ll never be a cow… man.” Similarly, his attempt at R&B, “ILY,” features lyrics like, “I trying to say I love you/ But I’m afraid to do it/ I wanna say I love you/ Oh heck, just screw it.”
Vinyl pre-orders are ongoing.
Mooney’s most recent projects include the 2021 Netflix live-action/animation hybrid Saturday Morning All Star Hits! and the A24 disaster horror comedy Y2K.
