Koffee and Jessie Reyez Hop on Sam Smith’s New Track “Gimme”

Koffee and Jessie Reyez Hop on Sam Smith’s New Track “Gimme”

Sam Smith has recruited Jamaican rapper Koffee and Colombian-Canadian pop polymath Jessie Reyez for a new single, titled “Gimme.” To put it simply, the track is a clubby, dancehall-ready lover’s call that Smith can only describe in one word: “filth!”

In a statement regarding the song’s creation, they said, “I’m a sexual person, I like sex. It’s something I’m teaching myself to not be ashamed of. Me and Jessie were basically drunk, drinking whisky in Jamaica, two in the morning, running around absolutely wasted, like two girlfriends having a laugh.”

“Gimme,” which was teased on TikTok and garnered millions of views prior to its official release, will appear on Smith’s forthcoming fourth studio album, Gloria. Additionally, the track will receive a music video “soon,” according to a release.

“Voyeurs are watching us/Giving me such a rush,” Smith sings on the pre-chorus. “When I’m crazy and gone, gone, love/Give me what I want, give me what I want.”

Smith, who is prepping for their third appearance as Saturday Night Live‘s musical guest on January 21, will embark on their Gloria The Tour this summer, beginning on July 25. The tour will stop across North America in cities including Miami, Nashville, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, San Francisco and many more, before concluding in Mexico’s Ciudad de Mexico on September 14. Fittingly, Reyez will appear as a special guest at all dates, aside from Washington, D.C.’s August 4 show. Tickets will be available on Friday, January 13, via the artist’s website.
