Amidst all the excitement around this year’s NBA Finals, Klay Thompson impersonator, Dawson Gurley, also known as YouTuber Big Daws, found himself banned from the Chase Center for life. The ban came after Gurley was able to get into the San Francisco arena before Game 5 of the NBA Finals pretending to be the basketball star. Not only did he make his way past security, but he also made his way on the court to get a few shots off.
Dawson Gurley shared his experience in a new video posted on YouTube, showing just how he fool both fans and security into thinking he was Klay Thompson. Eventually caught by security, the YouTuber was confronted by a Golden State Warriors employee who gave him a letter notifying him of his lifetime ban.
Taking to Twitter, Gurley added more details to the situation, arguing that he “technically” didn’t “trespass” but admitted that the Golden State Warriors had every right to ban him from the arena.

Banned bc I walked pass 5 layers of security guards (who willingly let me through security without asking for ID) & shot around on the court for 10 minutes. I also spent 10K on tickets which they are not refunding. Why should I be banned because their security is incompetent?

Technically, I did not trespass.I talked to security, went through metal detectors and walked right into the building. They welcomed me with open arms. I also never claimed to be Klay. https://t.co/FbmnKWlwTs

Im being contacted by a lot of news organizations to do interviews. As of now I will not be doing any. Don’t want to make this a bigger deal than it is, the chase center has every right to ban me. I get it. No hard feelings. Had fun doing it ??
