King Von’s Posthumous Album ‘What It Means To Be King’ Is Out Now

King Von’s posthumous LP What It Means To Be King has finally been released. Out via Only The Family /Empire Distribution, the album celebrates the late Chicago rapper’s legacy and reportedly green lit by Von’s family.

The 19-track project packs guest appearances from many of the rapper’s contemporaries, including G Herbo, 21 Savage, Fivio Foreign, Moneybagg Yo, Dreezy, Boss Top, DqFrmDaO, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Tee Grizzley and Lil Durk.

“Just going through my notes, I found a hundred songs, not released,” the rapper’s manager, Track, told Vlad TV. “One day, I went, I said, ‘Let me really see how much songs this man really had.’ Man got over 200 or 300 songs.”

Cover art for the LP, which was revealed earlier this week, features the album title written out in Von’s own handwriting.

Von, whose real name is Dayvon Bennett, was killed during an altercation in Atlanta in November 2020. He was 26-years-old at the time and had just released his debut album Welcome to O’Block.
