Kid Cudi will be performing his first concert on Encore, the virtual concert that he co-founded, next week on March 7. The app launched earlier this month and is designed as a “music-first creator platform” that allows artists to interact with fans and host shows in a virtual setting.
“My number one priority has always been inspiring others and providing them the space to tell their own stories in an authentic and meaningful way,” Cudi said when it launched. “We created Encore as a space for artists to share their art, build community, while also being able to pay their rent.”
Fans will be able to compensate artists for performances and music releases via a microtransaction system called “claps.”
His upcoming performance will be directed by Lyrical Lemonade founder, Cole Bennett. Fans can join the show via the Encore website or on the app, which is available on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
Cudi announced on Twitter that he’s offering the person with the most “claps” at his show an all-expenses-paid trip to one of his tour dates for them and a friend, as well as a private meet and greet.
Tune in to Kid Cudi’s Encore performance on March 7.
