Kendrick Lamar‘s highly-anticipated project, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, could be releasing as a double album.
Updating his Oklama website with a black-colored folder icon entitled “master,” the artist uploaded a photo of what seems like a book bearing his name and the album title, along with two “MASTER COPY” CDs individually labelled “STEPPERS” and “MORALE.” K-Dot did not confirm whether the speculations of the double album or the book were correct, however, leaving fans to wait for either an official announcement or the release day.
Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is Lamar’s first album since 2017’s DAMN. and will mark his last release with Top Dawg Entertainment. Label president Punch Henderson previously addressed the artist’s departure from TDE, “It’s been almost 20 years. So it’s time to move on and try new things and venture out. He’s doing a great job developing Baby Keem. It’s always been there, but now it’s just time and space where he can actually do it. It’s a beautiful thing to watch because that’s something that started with what we built in the beginning. To see it blossom, it’s a full-circle moment.”
Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers drops May 13.
