Kendrick Lamar‘s latest studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, has set a new Apple Music record.
Apple Music took to Twitter to confirm that upon its release, the album broke the streaming service’s worldwide record for the highest first-day streams for an album released in 2022, as well previously occupied the top 14 spots on the Apple Music Songs Chart. The service, however, did not reveal the exact numbers.
Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers arrives five long years after K-Dot’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 2017 album DAMN., and features production from Pharrell on “Mr. Morale,” Sounwave and DJ Dahi, The Alchemist on “We Cry Together” and Boi-1da on “N95.” Meanwhile, Blxst, Amanda Reifer, Sampha, Taylour Paige, Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Baby Keem, Sam Dew, Tanna Leone and Beth Gibbons of Portishead serve as guest artists.
Shout out @kendricklamar.
