Kendrick Lamar sets yet another chart record with GNX as tracks from the album occupy the top 5 of this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
Debuting at No. 1 on this week’s chart is “squabble up,” giving Dot his fifth chart-topper and his third of 2024 alone — marking the most among all artists this year following “Not Like Us” and “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin. “tv off” with Lefty Gunplay enters at No. 2, followed by “luther” with SZA at No. 3, “wacced out murals” at No. 4 and “hey now” with Dody6 at No. 5. This makes Lamar only the fourth artist in history to take up the first five spots on the chart, joining Taylor Swift, Drake and the Beatles.
In addition to the top 5, the pgLang founder appears two more times in the top 10 with “reincarnated” at No. 8 and “man at the garden” at No. 9, increasing his top 10 entries to 22.
GNX also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning 319,000 equivalent album units in its first week including 285,000 in streaming equivalent album units (379.92 million on-demand streams of the songs), 32,000 in album sales and 2,000 in track equivalent album units.
