Kendrick Lamar has announced that he’ll be performing a show in Los Angeles later this month, though it seems there are a few surprises in store.
Set to take place on June 19, also known as Juneteenth, the concert was announced by the rapper on his Instagram Story with a black-and-white photo of a license plate bearing the event’s details. The show is officially titled “Ken & Friends – The Pop Out,” implying that Lamar will be joined onstage by a few surprise guests.
Some fans speculated that Lamar may announce his next album at the concert, almost two years since the release of his fifth LP, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
Lamar’s creative house pgLang and another company called Free Lunch will be producing the event. pgLang was co-founded by Lamar and Dave Free in 2020 and spans music, film, design and products. Free Lunch, however, is totally new, though the name alone suggests it was created by Free.
Cash App Card owners will be granted exclusive access to a ticket pre-sale on Thursday, June 6 at 10 a.m. PT. A general sale will open up the following day at the same time.
